Where to stay when visiting Stockholm – One of my best friends just had her second baby so it was time to go and visit the family in Stockholm where they live. We stayed in a junior suite at Elite Hotel Stockholm Plaza. I’ve stayed at this hotel (and other Elites hotels) before and I’m really satisfied with both the hotel, personell and location.
This is our first time to travel with a Nicolas (7 months). We booked the suite as we thought Nico could need some space to play at. The suite has a bedroom, tv-room, ‘work area’ and bathroom; enough room for a ‘play ground’ in the TV – room. The rooms are modern and clean. Since we traveled with Nico we needed a crib for him. It was really easy to arrange, we just asked them to put one in our room and it was already in our suite at arrival, thus the service is great!
The breakfast is also tasty and fresh and at night you can both go for an after work and a nice dinner at the restaurant Vassa Eggen Steak House at the hotel, which we did one night. The food is delicious and the staff helped us with a baby chair so that Nico could eat with us. But for your notice; its a busy restaurant and not ideal for a baby, thus I would recommend you to go there when you don’t have your baby with you. At least now Nico has had his first ‘trendy restaurant’ experience in Stockholm:-)
The hotel is located in the city centre, just next to the park Humlegården and at a perfect walking distance to Stureplan and the high end shopping area. So if you are visiting Stockhom, and want to do some shopping I really recommend this hotel. This area is also famous for its trendy bars, restaurants and nightlife. As we were traveling with a 7 month baby this wasn’t on our agenda. Instead taking a stroll in Humlegården and along the waterside at Strandvägen and some Swedish Fika and shopping was more appreciated:-) We were having Hygge 🙂
So if you want to know where to stay when visiting Stockholm, this hotel is a perfect choice both if you are traveling with or without a baby.
